So Happy In Paris?

It would take only the chicest of DJs to be able to pull off the crème de la crème of Parisian gigs and play the first ever set on the Eiffel Tower. Thankfully Hed Kandi has its very own Parisian fashionista, spinner extraordinaire Michael Canitrot to fill the job and I was lucky enough to be invited to ‘So Happy in Paris?’ ten year anniversary party on top of one of the world’s most recognizable monuments.

Michael was his usual charming self with nothing but thanks for the crowd of people including legends such as Ron Carroll, Norman Doray, Bob Sinclair, Martin Solveig, DJ Yellow and MC Adrian who have always been massive supporters of his monthly nights at Queens club in Paris. The ‘So Happy in Paris?’ parties can only be described as soirees enjoyed by beautiful people in stunning settings, such as the Eiffel Tower, with a refined electric and festive sound mixing house, electro pop and modern disco. The fact that these parties are still as strong as ever a decade down the line is purely down to Michael’s innate understanding of the marriage of style and sound.

The man of the evening, Michael Canitrot, took to the stage and treated the party to an exclusive airing of his new track, ‘You and I’, which from the reaction I saw is going to be a floor filler of a tune. He then handed the decks over to Ron Carroll who alongside MC Adrian finished off a memorable night with a bunch of liquored up party animals stumbling around the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, a sight I don’t think seen very often, if at all!

Michael is the latest addition to the Hed Kandi artist roster and his brand new single You and I will be released in the upcoming months, so watch this space!
