Dutch DJ Mike Van Loon initially made contact with Hed Kandi's label leader Mark Doyle in 2000 whilst he ran Future Unknown DJ booking agency. After following the growing fortunes of the UK compilation label, Mike decided to book Hed Kandi LIVE for a party at De Beurs Van Berlage in Amsterdam. Accidentally Mark Doyle heard him DJ-ing at the cities Supperclub after his set and greatly impressed Doyle booked Mike for Kandis forthcoming gig in Germany. Mike still looks back at this first gig fondly as his best ever DJ experience and incidentally the first record Doyle heard Mike playing was immediately licensed for HK's Disco Kandi 4 compilation (Lego: When I'm with you (Trompet Mix).
