Talamanca
A long, curved beach borders the bay Cala Talamanca with the little resort Talamanca. The soft sand shelves gently into clear waters making it excellent for safe bathing. A wooden boardwalk runs the length of the beach, passing over into a lovely promenade on the left end of the bay, easily connecting you to either end. You'll find a very good choice of bars and restaurants along its length. Some are open the whole year round and so Talamanca is very popular in the winter months for walks around the bay and lunches in the warm winter sun. All of the hotels overlooking the beach here have stunning views of the old town of Ibiza, especially when lit at night.
Las Salinas
Named after the salt lakes in the south of Ibiza, the beach at Las Salinas is the southern most tip of the island and the most popular with celebrities...especially footballers! The very long, wide crescent of pale sandy beach is bordered by pine woods. The water is crystal clear with super breakers that appear on windy days, perfect for body-surfing. Good for adventure walks as the surrounding terrain is Ibiza's Wildlife Conservation Area. During the summer months, Las Salinas is the 'in' beach not only for the wealthy and the beautiful people, but also for the party scene. The bikini fashions tend to reveal more than they cover-up, and the sun-worshippers here are more than a match for the Baywatch beauties. The rather exclusive bars play summer music throughout the day, and will serve cocktails right to your sun bed! The atmosphere and the beautiful beach more than make up for the generous prices. Towards the end of the bay, nudists, families, hippies and party kings and queens dance and chill-out to the groovy sounds all day long. Pure summer feeling...no wonder it's such a popular beach!
Cala D’Hort
A small, beloved beach with a fantastic view of the mysterious island of Es Vedra, which lies only several hundred meters from the shore. The beach itself is sandy to one side, more pebbly to the other, and in summer is extremely popular. There are three excellent beach restaurants (one renowned for its fresh fish). Two are on the beach whilst the third, Es Boldado, is accessed from the road to the beach from Sant Josep (signposted). Or, if you’re brave, you can scramble over the rocks and fishermen huts to the wooden staircase that takes you up to this popular restaurant. 10 minutes drive from either Sant Josep or Cala Vadella.
Es Cavellet & El Chiringuito
Arguably the favourite beach amongst the locals is Es Cavellet. It’s just before the infamous Salinas Beach. The restaurant situated just off the beach is ‘El Chiringuito’ and is fast becoming the next Ibizan hot spot due to its great menu which consists of a fusion of Mediterranean (French/ Italian/ Spanish cuisine ) and it’s fabulously picturesque beach with white sand and rolling waves. Rolling dunes and a very broad sandy beach are perfect for beach strolls in the off season. In the summer months with club music and cocktails, the party feeling continues here the whole day long. Smooth and sophisticated and a definite day out not to be missed. 10 minutes drive from Playa d’en Bossa or Ibiza Town.
